WHAT EQUIPMENT WILL YOU NEED TO HAVE TO TRAVEL IN THE ALPES MARITIMES?

The Mountain law leaves several possibilities to users of the Alpes Maritimes. You will have the opportunity to equip yourself with:

    • winter tires on all four wheels , 3PMSF certified (3 Peak Mountain Snow Flake),
    • 4-season tires on all four wheels , also 3PMSF approved,
    • at least one pair of snow chains on both drive wheels,
    • or at least a pair of snow socks on both drive wheels.

You can also use M+S (Mud and Snow) certified tires but only until November 1, 2024, as this standard is not certified by independent tests.

WHAT IS THE RISK IN THE EVENT OF AN INFRINGEMENT?

In the event of non-compliance with the regulations, you risk a 4th class fine of €135. as well as the immobilization of the vehicle . It is therefore essential to have the right equipment according to your needs.

If you drive regularly or live in an area covered by the Mountain Law, it will undoubtedly be more judicious to turn to approved tires . Conversely, if you only ride occasionally in mountainous areas, removable non-slip equipment such as chains or snow socks will be more economical for you. In fact, the installation and cost of snow or season tires can be relatively high and must be done at a garage.

This winter, travel the roads of France with peace of mind thanks to premium anti-slip over-tyres from Musher! Easy to assemble in just 5 minutes , they are more resistant than classic snow socks. In addition, they have the advantage of driving on snowy and icy surfaces , as well as on dry bitumen (unlike snow chains) for 150 km up to 50 km/h .

The icing on the cake, this equipment is perfectly compliant with the Mountain law but also with the panel B26.

Durable , economical and easy to use , the anti-slip snow sock will be an essential asset to keep in your trunk for your trip to the Alpes Maritimes!
